Join Villager Consuelo Heath, President of the newly formed Naturalist Club, to learn about the biodiversity and habitats of our beautiful East Tennessee. Consuelo is a life-long nature enthusiast and a self-described citizen naturalist. She is in the process of completing the Southern Appalachian Naturalist Certification Program through the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont” and enjoys any opportunity to exchange knowledge and share her love of nature.”


Our participants can expect to:

  1. Gain an understanding of the components of biodiversity
  2. Discover the amazing diversity of plant and animal life in East Tennessee 3.    Learn why biodiversity is critical to humans right here, and around the globe
  3. Discuss terrestrial and freshwater habitats of East Tennessee, and places you can visit to see these habitats
  4. Review a map of wildlife sightings in Tellico Village
  5. Learn how one person can help protect biodiversity right in his own backyard and within the community
  6. Receive a brief introduction to the Tellico Village Naturalist club (You may visit the club’s public web site at: https://sites.google.com/view/tvnaturalists-public)


Tuition for this class is $5 payable at the class.  Checks should be payable to TVPOA.
